“An OFW’s True North: Gabay ko ang Aking Pamilya sa Aking Paglalakabay”

On December 13, 2020, POLO Toronto prepared a Virtual Celebration of the Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) Family Day.

For the  celebration, POLO Toronto honored and recognized all the  OFWs, especially those who work in the provinces of Ontario, Quebec, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland & Labrador and Nunavut, who have overcome the challenges of working abroad.

The highlight of the virtual event was the recognition of the Top 3 Model OFWS who have conquered all the challenges they have faced while working in Canada. They now enjoy successful careers and have given back to their family and their communities.

By looking back and sharing the success stories of Model OFWs Marie Antoinette Pangan, Rojelle Icamina and Shirley Delos Santos, and by highlighting a family’s bond through the “Namamasko Po: a Virtual Caroling” and the “Parol ng Pilipino”,  everyone were reminded and given hope that all challenges and trials in life can and will be prevailed over as long as we keep our life’s compass squarely focused on our True North: our family and our faith.
